Suhas Bhujbal’s Artist Statement:
Suhas’s work begins with cityscapes. With thickly encrusted paint as well as transparent glazes, Suhas subtracts the architectural forms in his own, very unique way. His palette conveys various emotions from a happy sunny day to a calm, quiet, lonely evening depending upon the need of each individual piece. Small countryside towns from India and even North America attract him more than big, modern cities. His unique sense of selecting the spots, dramatic colors and surprisingly different compositions make his paintings distinctive. Perfect balance of what’s tangible and intangible is the magic key of Suhas‘s paintings.
The selection process for the annual CCAF commemorative poster starts once all artists have been juried for the show. All juried artists’ submitted work is eligible to be selected for the poster. Each artist submits 4 images of work for the jury, which means the poster selection pool is over 900 images.
